오윤석은 목원대학교 미술교육과와 한남대학교 사회문화대학원 조형미술과를 졸업하였다. 2003-2004년에 ‘은(銀)과 나’ 시리즈로 3회 개인전을 하였고, 2007-2010년 까지 ‘텍스트와 이미지’로 종이나 천을 오리고 빛을 통과 시켜 평면과 입체의 경계를 표현한 설치작업으로 서울, 대전, 북경에서 5회 개인전을 열었다. 덴마크 실케보르그 바드 아트센터에서 ⟪6인의 한국현대미술가들⟫, 대전시립미술관의 ⟪미술경작⟫전 등 국내외 다수의 기획·단체전과 2010-2011년에 ‘KDL(독일)’과 ‘오픈스페이스 배(북경)’ 레지던시에 참여했다. 현재 ‘국립현대미술관 고양창작스튜디오’에 입주해 작업 활동을 하고 있다.

Oh, Youn-Seok graduated from the Mokwon University Department of Art Education and Hannam University Graduate School of Social Culture Department of Plastic Art. Between 2003 and 2004, Oh held three one-man exhibitions displaying the (Silver and I> series. Between 2007 and 2010, he had five solo shows in seoul, Daejeon, and Beijing which introduced the installation <Text and Image> that represents the border between two-dimensional and three-dimensional space by infiltrating light into cut-out paper and cloth. Oh took part in many group and planned exhibitions at home and abroad including 《Six Contemporary Korean Artists》 held at Art Center Slikebourg Bad, Denmark and 《Art Cultivation》 at Daejeon Museum of Art. During 2010 and 2011, he joined artist-in-residence programs held at KunstDoc Leipzig in Germany and Open Space Bae in Beijing. He now actively works in the National Art Studio, Goyang.
